It's been an emotionally exhausting, but spiritually uplifting week. When we found out that the biopsy showed cancer, we were, of course, very upset. But after some serious tears and a whole lot of conversations with the Lord, peace came somewhat easily for us. I know I never could have handled it had you all not covered me in prayer. I was at peace with having a mastectomy and the idea of chemotherapy. I felt like I could handle that with the help of family, friends and most importantly God. But that nagging shoulder pain was like a constant reminder to me that "Hey, the battle could be bigger." And it brought questions like, "Oh Lord, is this going to be the end of my life here on earth?" and "what about my babies?" Looking back on that now I can see that it was almost like He was saying "I know you could handle Plan A, but what would you do if I went with Plan B?" It was that nagging shoulder pain that brought me near the cross. It was that nagging shoulder pain that brought me to my knees. It was that nagging shoulder pain that brought me to his word. It was that nagging shoulder pain that brought me to the point I am today. God is so good, whether it's Plan A or Plan B. I praise Him for that nagging shoulder pain.
So here's the rest of the story that I hope will make you laugh out loud- You know what they said that shoulder pain looks like it's going to be? Arthritis!!! Can you believe it? Arthritis! I've never been so happy to be getting old!
Thank you Lord for helping me through a rough week. Thank you for the comfort I found in reading Your Word. And thank you for allowing me to get old!
